# Treasury

The Treasury surface is the aggregate view of the shrine's body: the total SOL held across the five vessels, plus its history over time.

## What you see

* **Total SOL** — the sum of every configured vessel's balance, read live from the RPC. Refreshes on a short interval.
* **Configured vessels** — how many of the five slots are filled. The shrine will never fabricate a balance for a missing vessel.
* **Treasury pool** — a pixel-art visualisation of the total. The water level rises with the balance.
* **History chart** — a running trace of the total, sampled over time, so the ebb and flow of the shrine's body is visible at a glance.
* **Last updated** — timestamp of the most recent successful RPC read.

## How the total is computed

For each of the five vessels the shrine calls `getBalance` against the Solana RPC, converts lamports to SOL, and sums the results. Vessels that fail to resolve are reported as missing rather than counted as zero.

## Trust

Every vessel address is disclosed on the [Vessels](/thesanctum-docs/surfaces/vessels.md) page and every balance can be independently verified on Solscan. The Treasury number is a sum, not a claim.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://thesanctum.gitbook.io/thesanctum-docs/surfaces/treasury.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
