# Vessels

The five vessels *are* the shrine. Each vessel is a public Solana wallet whose address is disclosed and whose activity is read live from the chain.

## The card

Each vessel is presented as a card showing:

* **Vessel index** (1–5) and its assigned display name.
* **Public key** with a short, click-to-copy representation and a link to Solscan for the full address.
* **Current balance** in SOL, from the live RPC.
* **Recent movement** — the most recent signatures involving the vessel.
* **Role hints** — brief text describing the vessel's function within the shrine (e.g. inflow, operations, distribution staging).

## Why five

Five vessels is a fixed structural choice — a hand of five stones. The number is not tuneable at runtime. If fewer than five wallets are configured, the shrine reports the gap; it does not silently continue.

## Verifying a vessel

1. Copy the address from the vessel card.
2. Open Solscan (link is provided).
3. Read the balance and recent transactions directly on-chain.

The shrine's number and Solscan's number should always agree. If they do not, trust Solscan.

See [The Five Vessels](/thesanctum-docs/mechanics/vessels.md) for the operational roles.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://thesanctum.gitbook.io/thesanctum-docs/surfaces/vessels.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
